Paul Edgar Micallef

Paul Edgar Micallef graduated as a lawyer from the University of Malta in 1984, read for a post-graduate degree at the University of Birmingham where he presented a thesis on consumer redress. Between 1992 to 1997 was legal counsel to the department of Consumer Affairs. Subsequently was a member of the Consumer Affairs Council and of the consumer association. Together with others he was responsible for the drafting of various consumer laws including the Consumer Affairs Act, various regulations implemented thereunder and other laws relating to consumer rights in the travel and tourism industry.  He currently works for the Malta Communications Authority the regulatory authority responsible for telecommunications and postal services.


Benny Borg Bonello

Benny Borg Bonello is one of the founding members of the Consumers’ Association.  At present he is the President of the Association.  Previously, he also served for a long time as Secretary General and as Chairman of the Consumer Affairs Council. At present he still holds the same post on the Council.  Mr Borg Bonello has also been appointed as the Malta representative on the Consumers Committee of the EU.
